Putting it plain and simple

The high winds of Katrina have all but knocked the wind out of the sails of the Cindy Sheehan story. It nonetheless still gets coverage and will likely get more as her come-back tour hits the road. Bob Kowell, in a brief editorial for The Village News, analyzes the demons that may be driving Sheehan in her quest for "answers":

Typical of the left, poor Cindy Sheehan is just wrong and deluded. Besides her feelings of guilt regarding her son's death, there is fear. She is having a hard time dealing with her guilt that her son re-enlisted despite her protests and probably re-enlisted because of her protests. Also, in hard times, there is a great amount of fear. Fear drives people to do crazy things such as confusing who is right and who is wrong.

Just who is wrong here? Are Americans responsible for 9/11? Were they responsible for the Germans and the Japanese actions in WWII? Were they responsible for the Holocaust?

We Americans have been responsible for freeing most of the world from tyrants, including overthrowing our own American Democrat Party on the issue of slavery, ending the National Socialist Party under Adolph Hitler, ending communism in most of the world and now trying to free Iraq and the Muslim world from tyranny. We are on the side of right most of the time.

I like the way this guy thinks... and many liberals will hate what he has to say in the two remaining paragraphs:

We must do everything we can to support President Bush and the war on terror. Will the evil go away if those who fight evil go away? By not standing up against bullies, will we be safe? Will giving in to the demands of those who kill innocent people give us a little more time?

The enemies of freedom will never go away. Stand against the forces that would destroy America; stand with President Bush. It is the right and just thing to do.

I can almost feel the wincing going on out there. Sorry to subject you to that;)
