Keeping the focus

The full scope of the damage left behind by Hurricane Katrina will not be known for some time to come. The horror of the storm itself and the terror of the ensuing floods have now passed. But now we face a human element that is proving to be every bit as disturbing as anything that has transpired to date. It is now becoming apparent that some of those who ignored the orders to evacuate did so because they wanted to have free reign of a city that would soon be ripe for the picking.

However, it is easy in our outrage (I definitely include myself in this) to lose focus on what is really important -- on helping those who need help. The Red Cross has set up a hurricane relief fund and I engourage anyone who is reading this to pitch in, even if it is a few dollars. Below is the link:
