Iraqi expats barred from voting on constitution

The Seattle Times reports that the Iraqi Electoral Commission will not allow Iraqi citizens living in other countries to vote on the Iraq's new constitution. This is troubling to Iraqi Christians living in the US and elsewhere and adds to the growing apprehension that the new government might seek to impose Shariah law.

In actuality Shariah law is one of three options on the table for the new constitution. While all involve some form of Islam the other two models are less extreme. From listening to the press, Shariah is the only option and is inevitable. Don't believe it.
